JobPath is a small, independent career guides site. We write clear, practical guides for the parts of working life people actually struggle with — getting a first job, handling interviews, negotiating pay, and making good decisions once you are in work.
The site launched on 6 November 2026.
What we cover
Three areas, and only three:
- Getting Hired — CVs, cover letters, job searching, and explaining your work history.
- Interviews & Offers — preparing, answering, following up, and negotiating salary.
- At Work & Beyond — resignations, raises, remote work, and turning an internship into a career.
We keep the scope narrow on purpose. A site that tries to cover everything ends up saying nothing useful about anything.
How our guides are written
Every guide is written to be used, not just read. That means:
- Concrete steps, in order. If a guide says “prepare”, it tells you what to prepare, what to say, and what to do next — not “be confident”.
- Plain English. No jargon without an explanation, no padding to hit a word count, no sentences that sound impressive and mean nothing.
- Honest limits. When something is a guess, we say so. When a decision needs a professional — a lawyer, a financial adviser — we say that too.
- Checked before publishing. Steps are verified against current practice as far as possible. When something changes, we update the guide.
What we are not
We are not a recruitment agency, not a job board, and not a place for hot takes. We do not publish sponsored guides, we do not sell favourable coverage, and we do not guarantee interviews, offers, or salary outcomes. If a guide mentions a product or service by name, it is because it is genuinely useful for the task — not because anyone paid for the mention.
Who runs this site
JobPath is run by its editor, Jordan Ellis.
Jordan writes practical, step-by-step guides for job seekers and working people — applications, interviews, pay, and workplace decisions. Every guide is checked before publishing, and readers’ corrections keep them up to date.
